Some quick tips on pin yin |
- "q" is pronounced like
"ch",
- "x" like "sh",
- "zh" like
"j"
- "ai" like the word
"eye",
- "ao" like the
"ou" in the word
"out"
- "e" like the "e" in the word "earl', e.g., e,
he and zhe; or like
"eh", e.g., ye, jie, qie and xie,
- "i" like "ee",
- "o" like
the word "awe",
- "u" like "w" or "oo", e.g., duo and pu;
or like the word
"you", e.g., ju.
Take the first six lines for example::
1) NA MO SA DAN TUO
("MO" is pronounced "m-awe"; "TUO" is pronounced "t-w-awe",
not "2")
2) SU QIE DUO YE
("QIE" = "ch-ee-eh";
"DUO" = "d-w-awe"; "YE" = "y-eh")
3) E LA HE DI
("E" = the "e" in the word "earl'; "HE" = the "he"
in the word "her"
but not the word "he"; "DI" = "dee")
4) SAN MIAU SAN PU TUO XIE
("MIAU" = "m-ee-ou", that is "ou" as in "out";
"XIE" = "she-ee-eh")
5) NA MO SA DAN TUO
(same as line 1)
6) FO TUO JU ZHI SHAI NI SHAN
"FO" = "f-awe";
"JU" = "j-you"; "ZHI"
= "jee", "SHAI" = "sh-eye"; "NI" =
"n-ee" just like the word "knee")
